Meeting with China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS)
On 10th April, Chairs of the Carbon Market and Standards and Conformity Assessment (SCA) WGs met with a delegation led by Dr. Tang Wanjin, vice president and researcher of China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS). Discussion topics included the research and establishment of China’s carbon trading rule system and emissions measurement.

On 30th March, Hengwei Liu, (former) National Chair of Carbon Market Working Group spoke at the "China Standardization Conference on Green and Low Carbon Standardization and the 8th Green Production and Consumption Exchange Conference", jointly organized by the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) and the China Association for Standardization (CAS) in Nanjing. Leaders from relevant government departments, research institutes, academic associations, industry and media representatives attended the conference.

On 11th January, the European Chamber met with Deputy DG Patrick Child (DG ENV) in Brussels to send key messages and exchange ideas concerning environmental issues. The European Chamber participants included the President, Vice President, Chairs of the Environment and Energy WGs, and so forth. Green and low-carbon development, ocean plastic pollution, circular economy, and climate warming were discussed.

On 15th December, the European Chamber’s Agriculture, Food and Beverage (AFB) Working Group and the Carbon Market Sub-Working Group organized a joint meeting on the progress and prospects for decarbonisation in the agriculture sector, where the Agricultural Counselor of Netherlands Embassy presented an overview of the agricultural sector in the Netherlands, highlighting the Dutch agricultural markets, greenhouse gas emissions, and the country's innovative land management approaches to reducing emissions.

SCA and Carbon Market Joint WG Meeting with the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS)
on 1st December, the European Chamber’s Standards and Conformity Assessment Working Group and the Carbon Market Sub-Working Group invited Ms. Lin Ling, Head of Resource and Environment Sub-Institute, China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), to share the latest standardization work on China's dual-carbon targets.

The Europe-China Workshop on Carbon Markets, a side event of the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, was co-hosted by Agora Energiewende, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), and Energy Investment Professional Committee of the Investment Association of China (IAC) on Wednesday, 9 November. Carlo Diego D'Andrea, Vice President of the European Chamber was invited to speak as a panel expert on the national ETS from the perspective of EU businesses in China.
